Call for Papers, Upcoming Issue: Double Issue 4/5 on Latin America; Guest Editors: David Craven and Susanne Baackmann

The editors announce a call for papers for a special double issue on Surrealism and Latin America. This issue considers what Lourdes Andrade called the “succession and exchange of echoes that resound within the space invented by Surrealism” within Latin America. While Mexico was the first focus of surrealist exiles, this issue is also interested in other echoes beyond it in South America and the Caribbean, in visual culture as well as in literature and film. We also invite consideration of more recent contestations of surrealist constructions of Latin America on the part of Latin American artists and writers. More...
